Jeremy Sokel

Jeremy started his career in private practice specialising in corporate finance and then moved to mergers and acquisitions in an investment bank. His experience includes all aspects of buying and selling businesses, management buy ins and buy outs and running businesses including start ups in manufacturing, engineering, medical industry and construction projects.

He has extensive experience in media law. In addition, he has been CEO and Chairman of a number of businesses.

He has also produced films and documentaries.

After a legal career in two top City law firms and an investment bank he moved into industry in 1992 with a legal role and a commercial role at a large PLC. He then joined another PLC. He then joined another PLC, a medical equipment manufacturer and distributor, in 1996 as group legal director, company secretary and director/MD of business units. He left this company in 2002 to buy and run several businesses and co-founded Learmond Criqui Sokel LLP together with Jessica in 2006 (now LCS Practice Ltd trading as learmond criqui sokel).

He has run many construction projects.

He is the co-author of a loose-leaf book on "A-Z Absence and Sickness" published by Gee Publishing Limited and has a BSc and M.A (Tax).

Jeremy's legal, commercial and management experience includes corporate and commercial work, contracts and litigation advice as well as media issues. He has experience of most types of property dispute and dealer issues. He has also often set up joint ventures and business purchases/sales and he has dealt with all regulatory issues.

He advises on employment law issues including senior management terminations and redundancy programs, business closures or reorganisations and employment tribunals.
